TORONTO, September 1 2026 – CIX Trading Inc., Canada's next-generation alternative trading system, today announced that Instinet Canada Limited, the Canadian subsidiary of Instinet Incorporated, has completed connectivity to CIX ahead of its planned launch.
Instinet Canada is among the first technology providers to connect, giving clients early access to CIX through Instinet Technology Solutions and the award-winning Newport® execution and order management system (EMS).
CIX is preparing to launch with a new matching engine, longer trading sessions, support for fractional shares, and a redesigned order book. Instinet Canada has completed the connectivity work needed to access CIX once the venue goes live.
CIX subscribers will be able to reach the platform through Instinet Technology Solutions, Instinet's routing and connectivity platform, as well as through Newport EMS, giving clients an additional path into CIX's marketplace and liquidity.
For clients using Instinet Canada as an executing broker, Instinet plans to add CIX as a routing destination within its algorithmic suite and Smart Order Router (SOR), giving those clients access to CIX liquidity without any change to their existing workflow.
The early connection reflects CIX's broader push to bring new technology partners onto the platform ahead of launch, expanding access and competition in Canada's capital markets.
