As part of our growth, we are seeking a Trading & Operations Manager to support our trading and operations department with its daily functionality and process.
Position Overview
- The Trading & Operations Manager will play a key role in facilitating daily operational duties supporting CIX trading and operational processes. You will work closely with the head of trading and operations, as well as CIX’s primary technology providers and additional third party vendors, to ensure the trading operation is fully optimized.
- The ability to support extended market hours for trading and client service support is essential, where the opportunity to work in a hybrid capacity, or remote, is supported in this role for this purpose.
Key Responsibilities
Trading Support
- Support the trading and operations department with quality assurance testing, updating trading policies and procedures, operational and technical specifics guides.
- Identify and escalate technical related issues for quick resolution with technology providers and vendor relationships.
Client Service
- Support daily client inquiries and trade support troubleshooting within equity marketplace operations.
- Service market structure related and general operational inquiries in a timely manner, ensuring a premier client experience.
- Flexible to work extended hours supporting CIX extended market hours service offering.
Project Management
- Assist with organizing and maintaining project management initiatives while ensuring timely and successful outcomes are achieved.
- Other duties as assigned, supporting CIX general business development and objectives.
Qualifications
Experience
- Experience within Canadian equity marketplace operations, marketplace vendors supporting Canadian financial markets, or a CIRO member broker dealer servicing retail or institutional clients in a business operations, customer service and/or technology support role.
- Experience supporting and modifying technical FIX specification and business requirements within order connectivity and/or order management systems.
Skills
- Ability to handle client inquiries relating to Canadian equity market structure, defining order types, and troubleshooting technical or market operational issues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of market structure, trading systems, and financial instruments such as equities, derivatives, fixed income, and/or digital assets.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Canadian Securities Course and additional continuing education courses offered through the Canadian Securities Institute are an asset.
