About CIX

CIX is seeking registration as Canada’s newest innovative Alternative Trading System, built to deliver a modern, transparent, and efficient marketplace for Canadian equities and listed products. We are a lean, entrepreneurial team where every member directly impacts how our markets operate.

The Role

We are looking for a Head, Product and Analytics to own the design, development, and performance of CIX’s equitytrading products. This is a senior, product-first role with analytics at its core, focused on market structure innovation, data-driven decision-making, and measurable execution quality.

The Head, Product and Analytics will translate client needs, regulatory constraints, and competitive dynamics into differentiated trading products that drive liquidity, adoption, and revenue. It is a hands-on builder role with fullaccountability for product performance, supported by rigorous analytics and continuous optimization. This is a newly created leadership role designed to support CIX’s continued growth and product expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Market Structure

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for CIX equity trading products.
  • Design and develop innovative market structure features that improve execution quality, liquidity formation, and participant outcomes.
  • Lead product initiatives from concept through regulatory engagement, launch, and ongoing iteration.
  • Partner closely with technology to convert trading and market structure concepts into clear specifications and release plans.
  • Act as the internal subject-matter expert on Canadian and global equity market structure.
  • Evaluate pricing models, order types, auctions, and incentive structures with a focus on simplicity, transparency, and adoption.

Analytics and Performance Ownership

  • Own product-level performance across volume, liquidity quality, spreads, fill rates, toxicity metrics, participation, and client outcomes.
  • Partner with the sales team to utilize analytics to highlight CIX performance to clients.
  • Build and maintain a rigorous analytical framework to evaluate execution quality and market quality versus strategic objectives.
  • Design and oversee dashboards and reporting tools that provide real-time and longitudinal insight into trading performance.
  • Establish KPIs for each product and trading mechanism, and ensure accountability against them.
  • Use quantitative analysis to prioritize roadmap decisions and validate new market structure features before and after launch.
  • Conduct competitive and peer analysis to identify structural advantages and areas for differentiation.
  • Translate complex data into clear insights for internal leadership, brokers, dealers, and regulators.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Support senior leadership in articulating clear, evidence-based value propositions for brokers, dealers, and issuers.
  • Engage, in partnership with sales, with market participants where deep product and analytical expertise is required.
  • Work cross-functionally with regulatory, compliance, technology, and operations teams to ensure fast, compliant execution.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of CIX’s trading and product strategy.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in equity trading, market structure, trading technology, or related fields.
  • Deep understanding of Canadian equity markets and ATS frameworks. Global market structure experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, launching, or materially improving trading products or market mechanisms.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, with a track record of using data to drive product decisions and performance improvements.
  • Experience building or overseeing analytical dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting frameworks.
  • Experience engaging with regulators, compliance teams, and senior internal stakeholders.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment with high ownership and accountability.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working at an ATS, exchange, broker-dealer, or market infrastructure provider.
  • Exposure to alternative trading models, auctions, or innovative liquidity mechanisms.
  • Experience supporting early-stage or growth-phase market infrastructure platforms.
  • Familiarity with execution quality analysis, transaction cost analysis, or market microstructure research.

Why Join CIX?

  • Be part of building the infrastructure of Canada’s newest ATS.
  • Work on critical systems where your impact is immediate and visible.
  • Gain exposure to both systems administration and financial market operations.
  • Competitive compensation and growth opportunities.
